About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Mapleton Community Ride Summary – 04/11/2018

Hey everyone,

So each month we do a “community” ride where we offer a easier ride for people who want to come along and try MTB out. This month we went to ride in the beautiful Mapleton Forest.

The advanced group left from the township and did around 30km all through the forest with a lot more climbing while the easy group left from the Mapleton Day Use Area and rode the 18km out to the Oakey Creek Lookout and back. The forecasted high temperatures held off until later in the day so it ended up being a rather pleasant ride indeed.

Someone in the advanced group forgot their hydration pack at the lookout so when the easy group arrived we wondered what this suspicious bag was. After a vigorous shake it was deemed safe and obviously not a bomb so we went through it and managed to track down it’s owner (and eat all the muesli bars) – Hoorah!

Afterwards we had coffee in Mapleton.

Thanks for the ride folks. Parklands next week!
