I am happy to announce that we will be having a trail care afternoon on Saturday the 6th of July from 1 pm (meet at the Radar hill road car park). We have work to do installing posts and hopefully some new signs at the Cancer tree/Tazer/Blue tongue intersection and the 4-ways intersection near the waterfall. We will also attend to some of the drainage issues as we make our way around.
Will post more details soon but any help will be most appreciated.
Coolum to Wooroi return was today’s ride. But before the ride even started I popped into Coolum to wish four Bushranger MTB women good luck as they had left their bikes at home and were about to start the 35 km walk in aid of mitochondrial disease. Hope you all have fun Tania, Amanda, Emma and Wil.
So 11 riders set off but not long in Dennis had mechanical woes and had to call it. Up through Peregian Beach and across to Murdering Creek through to Weyba road and out at the RSPCA unit. We had a couple of requests to keep the pace at 24km/hr – no idea why.
Into Wooroi we went and up Wallaby then down to carpark. Tried to find a bike charger for Terry as he was on two bars. We then went down Bloodwood up Daydream and down Milkmaid. Miles fell in luv with his hardtail again.
Heading home Greg (The Mo) decided to pull out and go for a burger and Paul on his sparkly new Giant Trance had a fight with a branch. Only one winner. We called in Rogers towing but he subbied the job out to Miles. John was good enough to ride on and come back to pick him up. Good team work guys.
Skills training sessions are back due to positive feedback received from past attendees. This time we have negotiated a 3 Pack which consists of 3 x 90 minute sessions for just $30! But be quick, only 10 spots for members are available (more will come at a later date).
Aimed at providing our newer members/riders a solid foundation of both riding and mechanical skills to get the most out of their MTB riding. Also ideal for more experienced riders who would like to work on their basics and remove bad habits.
Cornering And Braking Skills sessions will be at Parklands (radar hill rd) conducted by Geoff from Hit Bikes Coaching and Bike Maintenance Workshop will be conducted by Marty at EnPlusOne in Maroochydore.

Joey looks up sadly and says “I just wish I could be cooler so I could impress a potential sexual partner of my preferred gender and live happily ever after”. His friend stops shooing away a large group of crazed, lust-filled potential sexual partners with a stick, and looks at Joey with concern. “Maybe you should buy an awesome Bush Rangers jersey?” the friend says. Joey’s face brightens up and he says “Yeah?! Do you think that will help? Is that what your secret is?”. The beautiful, intelligent yet modest friend guffaws and says “I highly doubt it! They are just cool looking jerseys and it helps out the club. But if you really want to know my secret…” the friend pauses, looks around and then leans in with a conspiratorial smile and whispers four words “Get a fat bike!”. MORAL OF THE STORY: Buy a jersey and fat bikes are cool!
