2018 Annual Membership Survey (yes, it’s a bit late)

2018 Annual Membership Survey (yes, it’s a bit late)
This information helps us a lot!

Hi Folks,

By now you will have received an email. This email has a link to our 2018 membership survey for you to complete. The data we have received already has been particularly interesting so please keep it coming!

This survey is the most important thing we ask you to do because it helps the current and future committees to make informed decisions that represent the wishes of the membership.

The survey will be closed on the 17th Feb, 5PM.

You can expect questions in the following categories:

  • What trails do you like?
  • What rides/events do you you enjoy?
  • Ride start times
  • Club Systems
  • Fund Raising
  • Trail Development
  • General Feedback

Please encourage your fellow members to complete the survey and if you haven’t received the survey email, please let us know and we’ll get it out to you ASAP.

Bushrangers Xmas Party – Sat 8th December 2018

Bushrangers Xmas Party – Sat 8th December 2018
Pizza and 10 taps of beer at a fancy new brewery - noice!

Hello everyone,

Awwwww yeah!!

Sonja has come up with a lovely idea of having our end of year party eating ‘endless’ pizza at a new brewery at near Tanawha. So I’m assuming it’s an industrial conveyor belt process funneling directly into our mouths.

The Glasshouse Brewery lads are finishing off their build and will be ready to host us at 4.30pm Saturday the 8th of December. The address is 330 Mons Road, Tanawha (i.e. the Kunara organic markets – so you can buy some expensive rolled oats while you’re there).

Cost will be $20 each if you want the pizza and partners are welcome (as long as they talk about how awesome bikes are etc).

RSVP here – https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/2018-bushrangers-xmas-party-tickets-52738543403

Regards,

Michael Johns
Club Secretary

PS: If you don’t like beer I’m sure there will be other things to drink… and you are weird.

2018 Outdoors Queensland Award Finalist

2018 Outdoors Queensland Award Finalist

Hey folks!

Trophy is a tooth from a giant glass chain-ring

The work we all did on the Parklands MTB Trails Project last year has been recognised in the 2018 Outdoor Queensland Awards.

The Outdoors Queensland Awards (formerly known as the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Awards) recognise and reward excellence in the outdoors community. The Awards celebrate individuals, organisations, programs, events and activities that have been successful in significantly improving outcomes for participants, clients and communities.

The winners are announced in Brisbane on the 26/10/2018 and we are up against some very stiff and well deserving competition in our category.

Once again another big thanks to all our volunteers and Ranger Eugene from QPWS who helped build the new trails and skills park and the Sunshine Coast Council and Department of Sport and Recreation for the grants to make it all happen.

by Secretary 0 Comments
Welcome to the new 2018 Bush Rangers MTB Committee
Thanks to all those who came to the 2018 AGM

Hello everyone,

The full 2018 annual report will be coming out soon but we wanted to quickly introduce you to your new committee for 2018.

  • President – Ben “OK but this is the LAST year” Johns is happy to stay in the position for 1 more year so he can flash his recent MTBA trophy around a bit more.
  • Vice President – Welcome to Greg “Sure! Why not! I love clamps” Smith who has volunteered for the VP position. He will be in charge of all vices.
  • Secretary – Michael “I’m just here for the pizza” Johns will stay in the role but is planning a career change so may have to move away from role.
  • Treasurer – Craig “Why did I buy a bloody fatbike” Pearson is happy to stay on in the role.
  • Women’s Advocacy Officer – Susie <High pitch squeal> Hume is happy to stay on in the role.
  • Trails Officer – Rob “I haven’t slept in 4 years” Macdonald will stay in the role.

We’ve removed the roles of Social Coordinator and Away Ride Coordinator and instead created a Social team that people can join and offer their help for any events and submit ideas for events and away rides.

We have also created a trail care team and a race planning team for people to join and help in the creation and organisation of trails and races.

Thanks to people who volunteered for the committee and the people who came to the AGM. Also a big thanks to Greg Bright and Cortney and Martijn for their help last year in the Social Coordinator and Away Rides Coordinator roles.

OK 2018! Let’s see what you got!
