2019 AGM – 2pm Sat 02/03/2019 – Woombye Pub

2019 AGM – 2pm Sat 02/03/2019 – Woombye Pub
AGM 2019

Hey folks,

As the title says the AGM is going to be at the Woombye pub which is in…well… Woombye (duh!). Just drive down the main street, pass the shops and it’s at the end near the park. Plenty of parking around the back.

AGM will kick off Saturday 2pm and we’ll go through what’s happen this year then we’ll vote for filling in the new committee positions (or vote to wind up the club if no one wants the job).

The function room is beside the restaurant so you can come through the restaurant or the double doors from the carpark side.

They will be putting out some platters of nibbles for us and you can buy your own drinks.

See you there!

Michael Johns
(Soon to be not) Club Secretary

PS: We’ve had some feedback that people are scared of the I.T. side of things. With a couple of small provisos Ben and myself are happy to continue looking after that side of things. So as long as you are able to use a phone or send an email you’ll be just fine.

More Trails – Less Emails!

More Trails – Less Emails!
Adiós, Muchachos!

So in a few months the 2019 AGM will be held and as always on that day all committee positions are open for any member to have a crack at.

But this post is to let everyone know that Ben, Greg, Craig and myself are stepping down from the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary roles and will not nominate for any committee positions next year.

Also good for Xmas cards this year!

On a personal touchy-feely note this decision brings up confusing feelings of elation and sadness – like eating Neapolitan ice-cream blindfolded or finding a $20 note in your poop. Since Ben became President 4 years ago he has done an incredible job at rejuvenating the club and I’ve been supremely proud to stand beside him and the rest of the committee members on this journey.

So the big question is, which fresh new faces will take the helm? Will they keep the club on it’s current course, resurrect the past or steer it into uncharted and exciting new waters? You have until March so let the campaigns begin!

In the meantime we are here to help and we will get Xmas party and all the financials and administration sorted so the next committee can hit the ground running.

Now I better start shredding these incriminating…um… I mean, UNIMPORTANT documents!

Yours sincerely,

Michael “When can I drop the mic?” Johns
Club Secretary

Welcome to the new 2018 Bush Rangers MTB Committee
Thanks to all those who came to the 2018 AGM

Hello everyone,

The full 2018 annual report will be coming out soon but we wanted to quickly introduce you to your new committee for 2018.

  • President – Ben “OK but this is the LAST year” Johns is happy to stay in the position for 1 more year so he can flash his recent MTBA trophy around a bit more.
  • Vice President – Welcome to Greg “Sure! Why not! I love clamps” Smith who has volunteered for the VP position. He will be in charge of all vices.
  • Secretary – Michael “I’m just here for the pizza” Johns will stay in the role but is planning a career change so may have to move away from role.
  • Treasurer – Craig “Why did I buy a bloody fatbike” Pearson is happy to stay on in the role.
  • Women’s Advocacy Officer – Susie <High pitch squeal> Hume is happy to stay on in the role.
  • Trails Officer – Rob “I haven’t slept in 4 years” Macdonald will stay in the role.

We’ve removed the roles of Social Coordinator and Away Ride Coordinator and instead created a Social team that people can join and offer their help for any events and submit ideas for events and away rides.

We have also created a trail care team and a race planning team for people to join and help in the creation and organisation of trails and races.

Thanks to people who volunteered for the committee and the people who came to the AGM. Also a big thanks to Greg Bright and Cortney and Martijn for their help last year in the Social Coordinator and Away Rides Coordinator roles.

OK 2018! Let’s see what you got!

Want to add an item to the agenda?

If you have something you want on the agenda then send it through to [email protected] by the 01/03/2018 so I can get it written up and sent out to everyone.

2017 Bushrangers MTB Club AGM Summary

2017 Bushrangers MTB Club AGM Summary
Bush Rangers MTB Club 2017 AGM

We really need better models

The Maroochy Botanical Gardens was beautiful as always and it’s always a great place to have meetings. The rain held off but the humidity still came to the party but despite the mugginess the meeting was well attended and went pretty well (considering the dodgy secretary didn’t know what he had to do). Ben, Susie and Craig let us all know what was happening with the club, GoGirls and the money and there were some good ideas introduced by the members that are going to be researched then instigated ASAP.

We’ve filled the 10 positions for the upcoming coaching clinic so we can have some more MTBA qualified coaches in our ranks. I’ll also look into getting group rates for first aid certificates so I’ll let everyone know about that (just in case Carol crashes again).
