Trail-care at Ferny Forest
Love your trails

Hey Folks,

Cheryl from QPWS just let us know that they’ll be doing some much needed trail-care at Ferny Forest next Wednesday (19/09/2018) and they’d appreciate help from volunteers.

If you can help please email Cheryl at [email protected] by Monday so they can organise everything and let you know the times.

See you there if you’re coming.

Monthly Community Ride – This Sunday 05/08/2018!

Monthly Community Ride – This Sunday 05/08/2018!
The Skanky Swamp of Skankiness claimed no victims this day!

Hey Folks! For this Sunday’s community ride we’ll ride from Maddock Park, through the Ewan Maddock Dam trails and around to the Ferny Forest trails. Here we can stop for coffee at Brewhaha Mobile Cafe (or you can choose to do some laps of Ferny Forest).

While we chill in the sun and wait for coffee I’m thinking we do a little Q&A on something bike related like seat height, tyres or how come our club president cannot grow a real beard etc.

We ride off at 7:30am – see you there!

Weekend Rides Summary – 28-29/04/2018

Weekend Rides Summary – 28-29/04/2018
Cooloolabin Dam

It was a busy weekend just past with our members heading all over the place to compete in races, to camp and ride at the Hidden vale trails and ride on our Cooloolabin club ride and the rookie ride at Parklands.

The Rookie ride was at Parklands on Saturday morning and went pretty well with 11 riders and a couple new faces, no injuries and everyone having fun. The trails have finally dried out too. We went through the green loop, had a crack at the new blue flow trail then we went over the new Road Rage stuff and then around the Gumby Loop.

The club ride at Cooloolabin was a 2-part event with most of the group leaving from Yandina and climbing up the Bottle and Glass fire road then meeting the 2nd group at the Cooloolabin dam spillway. We had 16 riders this day with Jen being the only lady who accidentally started at Yandina but made it the whole way like a champion! Still a bit of mud around the dam but it was easily dodged. Great weather, good company, good ride! Thanks everyone.

There was a combined Bushranger/CORCA camping trip down to Hidden Vale which apparently was a lot of fun and well attended.

Congrats to Pete Bigaila, Chad Powers and Nikita Vandeleur and everyone else who rode in last weekend’s races at Glenview, Garapine and Townsville.

What a great weekend!

Ferny Forest Trails Closed due to Wet Conditions

Ferny Forest Trails Closed due to Wet Conditions

Hi Folks,

The local ranger has asked us to spread the word that the Ferny Forest trail at Ewen Maddock Dam is temporarily closed due to rather wet conditions. To save further deterioration of the trail surface please avoid riding until after a couple of days of sunny weather.

For more information see: https://www.npsr.qld.gov.au/park-alerts/15632.html

Kind Regards,
Bushrangers Committee
