Race setup – the calm before the storm

Hi Folks,

As we like to get the results out as soon as possible, here they are:

Congratulations to the podium finishers and well done for a race well ridden everyone. Official race write-up and photos coming soon!

Huge thank you to Paul for letting us use his great property and trails, our awesome volunteers, David Harbutt Photography and to the fantastic prize providers – EnplusOne, Hit Bikes, Venture Cycles and Clifbar, Nuun and Amazing Oils. Also not forgetting the awesome portaloo provided at a great price by Hire-a-loo.

Also thank you to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund for funding the purchase of all our race equipment.

This just hit the newsdesk from Bushranger member Graham Hall.

“A few Bushrangers went down to Hidden vale and competed in the 3plus3 extreme enduro on the weekend. Rod Brannock came 6th in over-50 category and 26th overall after two gruelling days in the saddle. Graeme Hall wasn’t far behind. Hahaha!”

Nice work Graham and Rod and whoever else rode down there on the weekend!

Pete Bigaila competed in the LunarC 8hr MTB Enduro race last Friday night and finished 1st in his category (50+) and 3rd overall! That’s an awesome effort Pete!

Also a big shout out to his dedicated pit crew Donna and Kirsty who spent the night counting laps, drinking coffee and probably freezing .

The results have been posted here – https://in2adventure.com.au/moretonbay-mtb-series-results/

The large calendar fridge magnets as prizes were a bit underwhelming.

Now I don’t know about you but I like to divide my day up into sleep-time and not-sleep-time. The ratio can vary somewhat but I usually get 7-8 hours of sleep each day so I guess I’m a bit of a traditionalist that way and I’m OK with this. However Bushrangers member Pete Bigaila probably looks at this 8 hours of beautiful sleep I have and thinks “Sleep Schmeep – you could be riding your bike!”.

Yup that’s right, Pete likes to ride his bike for the whole 24 hours, it’s his thing. He trains for these races by doing daily 100km rides and he even does a few of these at 2am in the morning because hey, why not! It’s not like he should be in bed or anything.
