Bike Week Sunshine Coast 7th to the 15 of October 2017

We Love to Ride!

The Sunshine Coast Council presents the Sunshine Coast Bike Week 2017, an annual nine day celebration of cycling on the Sunshine Coast. This includes the Cyclefest events, free rides and workshops and a Ride2Work day with free breakfast and prizes.

Bike Week encourages people of all ages, sizes and cycling abilities to get into the saddle by offering a packed schedule of events during the week. Most events are free and are provided by community clubs and groups and local business. This series of events aim to encourage participation in cycling and promote road safety messages for all bike riders and motorists to share the road safely.

The Bushrangers are having a Rookie Ride through Parklands on Sunday 8th October at 7:15am at the Radar Hill Road Carpark – https://goo.gl/maps/BbUzvcPHR3G2. More information is on our Calendar at https://bushrangers.org/information/calendar/

gnar: pronounced (när)

Terrain is very gnarly if it has a high gnar quotient
That’s right folks this is the shirt that you didn’t really ask for and don’t particularly need but I felt like making – so now it can be yours!!

In the spirit of night riding we had the screen-printers work in the dark with only a headlamp and then we threw rocks and bandicoots at them from the shadows. These shirts are now truly imbued with panic, anguish and just a pinch of foul language!

I’ve chosen a shirt that is a 50/50 mix of cotton and polyester so it should withstand a bit of sweat without getting all soggy. You can also choose from a couple of colours if you aren’t a fan of “Ben’s heart” grey.

As always all the profits from these shirts go back to the club so if you want a bit of “Dark Gnar” over your chest then get your shirt today! Order these and more at our Spreadshirt shop https://shop.spreadshirt.com.au/Bushrangers/ (if you want to share shipping let me know and we’ll sort something out).

Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway Plan

Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway Plan

While we prefer to avoid the pavement unless the weather is bad there is something relaxing about cruising along a pathway by the beach. So we like to draw your attention to the Sunshine Coast Council’s Draft Coastal Pathway Master Plan and ask if you could take time to provide your feedback. Summary of the plan is as follows:

The council aims to provide a continuous shared pathway spanning 73 km of our coastline. There are many pathways already in place and this master plan will help guide the route and fill in the gaps, where pathways need to be upgraded or constructed.

The Coastal Pathway makes it easier and safer for our community to enjoy an active lifestyle, experience iconic views, beaches and parks, and connect to local destinations, services and businesses.

Visit our website to view the master plan and complete an online survey. You can also view the plan at your local library.

Oh there’s also a chance you could win a voucher or two.
