About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

I like riding all sorts of bikes, road, gravel or mountain bike. But the happiest I am in the forest on an mtb. I seem to always find hills and enjoy riding up them. I have been called ‘crazy Austrian mountain girl’ quite a few times. Come and join us and experience the joy for yourself!

Sonja

Secretary

Started riding in 2011. Immersed in great outdoors, riding takes me to places- geographical, physical, mental & spirtitual.

Simon

Treasurer

I got into cycle touring in 2003 whilst travelling the world. Then found myself needing a MTB when I moved to Timor-Leste in 2006 riding through their amazing mountains. My biking journey has slowly evolved towards riding trails over recent years, and I started riding with the Bushrangers in 2020. I love a chat while riding and provide entertainment by taking frequent tumbles.

Susie

Women's Advocacy Officer

After racing BMX for 10 years, in 2015 we joined the Bushrangers first community ride of the year and we haven’t looked back since. Riding brings me to life and I love the health benefits it gives me. That’s why I enjoy sharing my passion for this sport through GO GIRL (Get Into Riding Ladies) our women’s riding group.

Toby

Ride Coordinator

Sets the pace with riding and talking (if you can catch me, you won't understand a word).
