Meet at Corbould Park racecourse carpark, Pearce Ave. Caloundra 6.15 for 6.30am ride off.
Details:
We will form into 2 or 3 groups depending on numbers and ride to Boneyards via the culvert under the Bruce Highway, an advanced group will find plenty of tracks to challenge skills and fitness whilst a more social group or groups will get to sample the beautiful rainforest trails with names like Congo, Kokoda and Amazon.
Bring plenty of water ( as there are no facilities in boneyards) insect repellent, spare tube etc.
Coffee afterwards at Marlarkie in Caloundra following the ride for anyone interested.
This ride is suitable for all riders that regularly attend group rides but not for beginners as you will need to be able to negotiate un-groomed tracks and ride at least 15 – 20 kms.
All riders must have insurance coverage. Please bring proof of insurance cover for mountain biking activities. If you do not have insurance then you can sign up to the MTBA free 8-week trial membership: http://www.mtba.asn.au/membership/free-trial-membership/
Please keep the weather in mind. Keep an eye on Facebook for notifications and the calendar for updates. We will always endeavour to notify of any cancellations as soon as possible but sometimes the weather can be unpredictable and it is necessary to cancel at short notice. If you don’t use Facebook and are ever in doubt please email info@bushrangers.org.
Ride Gradings
- Grade 1: Fairly flat, wide and smooth track or gravel road. Suitable for all first-time riders/family.

- Grade 3: Challenging riding with steeper slopes and obstacles, possibly on a narrow track with poor traction. Requires riding experience and moderate fitness. 2-3 hours.
- Grade 4: A mixture of long or steep climbs, loose track surfaces, more difficult obstacles. Good fitness and bike skills required. 2-4 hours.
- Grade 5: Long hard climbs, steeper grades, sharp corners, some tricky obstacles. Some sections are easier to walk. Very good fitness and bike skills required. 4 hours or more.
