About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Event Details

Time: 7.15am for 7.30am ride off

Starting Point: Tewantin Cricket ground, Goodwin St, Tewantin

Sally has a new loop planned starting from Tewantin. Coffee will be at Cafe VinChino

Grade: Grade 3

30-50km of mixed gravel and single track off road riding following Noosa enduro trails along Mc Kinnon Drive and Tewantin State Forest through Yurol Forest and back.

Those wanting a shorter ride can leave out the loop in Yurol and turn back earlier.

Bring plenty of fluids and snacks.

Ride Gradings

  • Grade 1: Fairly flat, wide and smooth track or gravel road. Suitable for all first-time riders/family.
  • Grade 2: Gentle climbs and easily avoidable obstacles. You couldn’t ride it in your sleep, but most beginners will still enjoy 1-2 hours.
  • Grade 3: Challenging riding with steeper slopes and obstacles, possibly on a narrow track with poor traction. Requires riding experience and moderate fitness. 2-3 hours.
  • Grade 4: A mixture of long or steep climbs, loose track surfaces, more difficult obstacles. Good fitness and bike skills required. 2-4 hours.
  • Grade 5: Long hard climbs, steeper grades, sharp corners, some tricky obstacles. Some sections are easier to walk. Very good fitness and bike skills required. 4 hours or more.
