About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

GoGIRL Glasshouse Mountains Ride Summary – 29/04/2017

Autumn is finally here and we had perfect riding conditions for our latest goGIRL ride. Yahoo! Last month was cancelled due to wet conditions formed by cyclone Debbie so we were keen to follow Kerrie out of the Glasshouse Sports ground and along the fire trail into the beautiful Glasshouse Mountains area.

First we rode beside Steve Erwin Way to Matthew Flinders Rest Area, then along Farm Track to visit Jack. After Smashing the Rocks where all the girls expertly rode uphill, we gasped at the majestic views, left the Caves and Marshes and had a snack on a log. The girls dared me to ride it. It was over a metre high but it had no good exit strategy. A heli ride out of there would have made a good story but I decided to made a detour through Avocado farm instead. After zipping Downhill Fireroad, we got a view of Tibbro before crossing the creek with its own name. Climbing up the rock slabs was fun, then back past Mathew Flinders, Coonowrin Creek and under the M1, safely back to the carpark. The Boys were back too. (We never make a time but mostly they always know when we are finished). I wonder if you hear chatter and laughter on their ride as well. Finally it’s time to swap stories as we head to the local Glasshouse bakery to enjoy each other’s company as well as bakery treats, wraps, frappes and well earned coffee.
