About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Thunder, lightning, wind, rain was all yesterday’s news !!!!!

Sunday morning was looking fantastic with a clear radar, always brings joy to the MTB riding community.

The dirty dozen of riders assembled for dirt duty at Lillyponds,  Mapleton rides are always an adventure, never the same. We headed out jumping into the single tracks as soon as possible, winding our way onto the Magic Mile, thoroughly enjoyable smorgasbord of carvery.

Continuing onto the secret Mile back to Mapleton forest drive then single side-track for downhill fun, brought back down to earth to the next steep climb towards Cooloolabin.

Hanging a right turn up English break,  back towards Mapleton with one E-bike less, oopps forgot to charge the battery, several attempts to charge it with muesli bars failed to work so leg work was employed.

Serious altitude loss down Python Break incorporating Sloppy Python descent, up Cornellious Break for  a  picturesque creek crossing  bite to eat then up River break when the top guns split off through  Whites Break ,   XTR gods were upset as lower hanger was impaled by the Demon  STICK AHHHH…   Rescue chopper  called (Triton)   Back in Mapleton sunlight, weary but happy riders enjoyed a well-earned coffee and tucker at La Botiga café…..
