Ride Report Glasshouse 30.1.2022
Mountains & bikes drew in an adventurous crew of 20 riders including new players Troy, Martin, Dan & Steve.
Rolling through the sleepy streets of Glasshouse township then down Poole st (was this a sign of things to come ??) Mt Tibrogargan overlooked progress before hitting the grid pattern of fire tracks including a plethora of variables, turbid puddles (dams??), cavernous gullies. Main criteria was picking a line of least resistance, one bike went into horizontal submarine mode with no ill effect. Everyone remembers the bridge with more water on top than underneath?? aerial aqueduct.
Keeping everything relatively up right we arrived at the North entry to twin mountains Tunbubudla East and West. This is where things get interesting attempting to ride up rollie rocks the soles hit the ground turning Mountain bikes into push bikes suddenly.
“Banana break” rest at the saddle and flora photography ensued. The southern descent was an absolute cracker for the rock and tech warriors, despite meter deep trench warfare in places… Everyone made it out alive and smiling.
Back out in the open forest plantation roads the hound dogs could smell a whiff of coffee in the air despite being 10+km away , passing through Beerburrum then the final dash back to Glasshouse.
Thanks to the ride leader J.W.S
Sensational ride and effort for our new and existing members. CJ’s bakery put on the best tucker and beverages a mountain biker deserves.
Keep an eye on the FB page for next weeks ride as more H2O is on the way
