Eumundi Cooroy ride report
Bushrangers Club ride report 15/5/2022
The wet weather plan was to find a road less travelled on some local scenic country roads, right on our doorstep.
Setting off on a steamy May Sunday from Eumundi the town was sleepy quiet. Bushrangers headed for the high country up Eumundi Range rd stopping to see the other side of Mt Eerwah (we normally see it from the Point Glorious side) Rolling into Cooroy checking out pastel green architecture of the eras 60’s to current, everyone stills mows in thongs!!
West to “Cooroy Belli creek” rd set the green scene riding up gradual inclines into the rising mist, stopping at “Old Ceylon hill” road the sun threatened to break through. Only sign of life was one man walking his dog.
More gradual climbs to Lawnville rd along the narrow ridges, the team rolled a fast pace down a 3km winding black top. Caution to the wind wet bitumen and downhill tyres !!! what could go wrong!!!! Nothing with such a stealthy crew of road warriors. Evidence of Fridays deluge could be seen with drains still flowing,
Back to Cooroy for a history tour of the timber town we were devastated to see the council playground closed, looked like an extreme skills park. Maybe next time.
Keen to get some gravel under the tyres Cooroy mt rd filled the need, Mt Tinbeerwah looked crystal clear with a Blue sky back ground. Sharing the day with the happy rd cyclists all stoked to be out in the country visualizing a steaming coffee cup…
Eumundi back on the radar, Sunrise rd got the legs in action for the descent back to Eumundi, Still relatively unoccupied with only a wondering Giraffe under a Magnolia tree, maybe the air was a bit thin in the mountains ??.
With a plethora of coffee ‘n’ nosh shops Eumundi Coffee was the chosen one. Great diversity of conversation……Cheers . The 800m and 44km seemed to disappear with the easy rolling views.
