About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Pre covid19 restrictions…..

What an absolutely fantastic Ride lead by Marty and his merry men, this ride was always going to be touch and go as to what the tracks are like with the wet season tapering off nicely.

Heading off a wonderful cross section of riders clad with a spectrum of coloured Helmets, jerseys, shoes and gloves aboard their “brand loyal” bikes,  the legs spun cranks in a westerly direction along Mckinnon drive then headed bush into open fire roads with soggy side drains.

The infamous Transmission track always keeps you awake weaving through the close trees, wide handlebars over 800mm beware!!.  Exiting back out into sunlight the crew zigged and Zagged through fire trails, negotiated Forest creeks infested with Bunyips and Bog Monsters evident from the MTBer bones littering the banks.

With no loses to numbers we climbed up to Northern high above Loui Bazzo drive point before riding one of the best bush single tracks around, what a blast weaving down rutted gullies, twisty corners sketchy climbs. Chad was on fire on the E Stump jumper off like a rat up a drain pipe !! .  Are we there yet “Tanya” was pleased to be heading back south.  Tackling more water features and picturesque fire roads with relative ease the pace heated up as the Peloton headed back to base. Suitably worn out and socially isolated the riders disappeared back home. Thanks again Marty for your local knowledge and adventurous ride. What a great group of riders.

This was the last ride prior to the tighter Covid19 restrictions which have been necessary to help reduce the spread and allow us in the future to ride again with our fellow MTB mates.

Until next time stay safe, keep exercising.
