Gogirls Gympie !!!! Training and Ride
GoGIRL teamed with Gympie Bike Riders to give 16 lucky riders an hour of coaching goodness. Amanda Finch and her partner Mike soon had the girls working on skill development activities after a quick observation of their riding ability. They broke the skills into sizable chunks with appropriate demonstrations and time for skill progression whilst keeping the session fun and varied.
After analysing each rider’s proficiency, I could hear their feedback using easy to understand language like B to B, which had us ladies all laughing but remembering what to do. After nailing the ready position, braking and cornering drills, they put these skills together on a purpose built track with awesome left and right handed berms that were easily accessible to the riders at the One Mile Mountain Bike Park where the coaching was held. It is open free to the public too if you want to check it out.
Each and every GoGIRL that participated is helping Gympie Bike Riders develop this training area. All monies are going to be used for this purpose as the coaches charged no fee. How generous is that. I would recommend this professional team for their 4 session coaching course. Please let me know if you would be interested in this. After the session, some ladies were so pumped that they stayed to cement their knowledge but most followed Amanda to Victory Heights for more mountain bike goodness.
To end the morning, we went to SoMA SoMA, met up with Kerry Clause, Bushrangers, MTB Club treasurer who expertly led the GoGIRL Intermediate Victory Heights ride and Boys on the side led by Paul Hume.
We can thank him for always knowing the best refuelling stations and best coffee/ smoothies in Gympie. We settled in there quite comfortably and no-one was in a hurry to leave. Helping local clubs & businesses is just one of the positive outcomes of journeying up here, the friendships we make on the way are priceless.
GoGIRL is presently working with another local business to bring you a new fun experiences that is not only good for your physical health but will nurture your mental health too. More details to follow soon.
Get out riding and support each other,
Susie Hume
