About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

11/12/22 Ride Report – Parklands  “No rest for the wicked”

2 weeks b4 Christmas and numbers slightly down …. Christmas gatherings, shopping, vacations, hangovers or perhaps it was just the heat. Still, a decent turnout gathered at Radar Hill carpark.

2 groups as promised :

Starter group no. 1 … Jeremey’s fast and the furious with only 2 brave takers –3 wicked outcasts on Giant , Kona and Soma Soma and there was little rest for the wicked!

The Giant cleared cobwebs up Spare Parts then entered uncharted territory ….. and for punishment up T Track then Beehive backwards ….WHY JB WHY !!! … what did we do wrong?? Shadowlands, Lower NZ, TNT, Dawsecent, Shits and Giggles, Phoenix, Roo Valley, Meadows, Rock a dial blue up!!!, Trig Rock face , CT + stick impalement Blood letting, Tazer back to base via Road Rage. Lots of pet rocks ridden over, humidity blues, profuse sweating 25km 680m covered. Thanks to JB for the fine line between P & P.

Starter group no. 2 – Toby and his faithful, trusting & believing they had made the right decision …. Safety in numbers right? Spare Parts to start, the humidity was high, the breeze … well there was none and already there were murmurings of mutiny. Toby led his sweaty troupe through the thick of the forest where the cacophony of the cicada song was deafening at its crescendo.

Toby’s trail selection was to Alex’s approval and ensured we saw some rumble & tumble, at least one OTB with a gentle hug of a tree, and some not so eloquent dismounts.

Notable moments: Millie’s new ride kit, Tania’s dripping hair, humidified foggy glasses, Bluey’s attempt to increase 2 hernias to 3, Pete’s revelation he shares the same birthday as Jesus, admiration for Simon’s chameleon steed and learning that Toby’s version of flow trail is T-Track!!!

Shout outs to: Toby who loves to challenge his flock, Nic who rode like a queen, Kellee and Millie who like to chat up the hills, Mark for his dogged perseverance, Simon who turned up despite being emotionally scarred from last week’s ride & Jo Jenson’s offerings of caffeine enrichment, iced treats and refreshing slabs of watermelon
