Sleepy Snakes, Angry Ants and Weighty Rocks – Parklands Trail-care summary 06/05/2017
Hey everyone,
We had a massive turnout for trail care today and the freshly cut-in access trail was polished off nicely within 3 hours.
The two creek crossings were armored with rock (really big, heavy ones!) and the single track and berms were shaped and packed down.
Highlights and experiences of the day were:
- A really distracted snake didn’t realise that a vibrating plate machine or “Wacker Packer” was almost on it.
- One team accidentally discovered a jumping ant nest. That caused a bit of excitement!
- If you act really incompetent at cooking the BBQ, Sonja will take over and do it for you.
- I was a bit stingy on the sausages… sorry about that everyone!
Thanks to Eugene from QPWS and Pete from Trailworx for your help and a big thanks to all our volunteers.
If you want to be alerted to future trail-care events via email and SMS then fill out the small form (link below) and add your details to our trail-care database. You don’t have to be a club member so let anyone to sign up here too – https://goo.gl/forms/HTV55pc5IEzWPXAj1
Thanks again everyone, wear your trail-care badge with pride!
