About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Go G.I.R.L. Coaching with Janine Jungfels

A summary of go girl coaching By Paul Hume   Janine Jungfels is an absolute gem, I watched her coach with a contagious enthusiasm for four and a half hours without a coffee stop! Even on a good day I can’t do more than two hours of work straight without the need for caffeine enhancement. She is World UCI trials champion 2015 and with luck she will be there on the top step of the podium 2016. We are so privileged to have access to her coaching, which only happened by chance conversation. We sold my sons bike to her “mum” Laurie Aves, who Janine is living with. Pretty hard not to have a good time when you’re on your bike, even harder when your being coached by the worlds best. The ladies were certainly out of their comfort zones doing “wheelies” up the path, OMG, I nearly laughed out loud each time they went past. But being the professional I am, kept my …...

Go G.I.R.L News

Saturday’s Beginner ride on the 24/02/2016 had 14 riders take off from Ewan Maddock car park and within minutes one rider was sure that they had seen a platypus! We continued riding around the dam taking in the sights and stopping for the odd photo. Most ladies were well and trully ready for a coffee and a snack once we arrived at Buck’s Bakery in Landsborugh. After refreshments, a highlight was definitely going through Dalarcha N.P. and riding through the old tunnel to Kenny’s at Mooloolah. It was at this point, some of the ladies had to dig deep. The SAG wagon was called for one lady who made a promised to herself to get on her bike more often . It was the first time her legs had peddled in a very long time. So she did exceptionally well getting that far. With only a few kilometres to go, one bike sadly didn’t make it. Our support mechanic,...

No dedicated rookie ride on this weekend but you are welcome to come along to the Social ride at Ewan Maddock dam (Glenview) on Sunday. Check the calendar for the details....

January wet weather ride

During periods of wet weather when the clubs planned ride is cancelled a pavement ride is often still held, if predicted weather isn't too severe. Members will typically receive a text or email the night before to advise of the changed plans. For our last ride of January we had seven keen members meet in Maroochydore headed Coolum way in search of a coffee shop for a mid ride refueling treat. We encourage all members still keen to jump on their bike to stick to the pavement and areas that won't negatively impact trails when riding in or after periods of rain. Plus your less likely to become intimate with fallen branches on the pavement!...
