About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Phoenix trail is looking good

Trail care went well on Saturday afternoon with the top part of Phoenix track being snazzed up and the Roo Valley/Meadows link track from last week being finished off. I think Phoenix is still being worked on this week again so its closed to let the digger do its thing and for the new features to settle in. Keep an eye on the SCTA Facebook for more details....

18/05/16 Parklands Night Ride Summary – IT SUCKED!

...well it sucked for me but the others had fun. Andrew, Ben, Chad, Royce and myself all rocked up to do the night ride. Chad was there early to do an extra loop and rescued some poor bugger who had gotten lost with no lights and brought him back to the carpark. We explored a new section of track that has a lot of potential, just needs some bridges over the muddy bits and maybe remove the big low-hanging branch that crosses the trail. My ride was cut short because I head-butted that big low-hanging branch that crossed the trail. It hurt a lot and I taught the wildlife some new words similar to "Jeepers!" and "Goshdarnit!" I also discovered yet another sidewall tear when I got home (more new words were said). The other guys went on to finish the ride while I found Toby and Kirsty and went back to the car with them. I guess I was feeling a little bit shook up and...

14/05/2016 – Gap Creek Trail Care Learning day

Hello 'rangers A few of us Bush Rangers, CORCAs and some other keen local trail advocates went down to Brisbane and helped the Gap Creek Trail Alliance out with a major trail redirect and armoring a creek crossing. There was about 30 of us and in a couple of hours we had scraped out the new trail, moved debris and trunks, made some berms, did some drainage work, armored a creek crossing and covered up the old trail. By the time we left riders were using the new trail. It was an amazing effort and a classic case of many hands make light work. It was exactly the thing we could have with our own trails alliance. A lot of keen volunteers rocking up with a plan, skills, tools and machinery and then smashing out some good work in short order all over the coast. Thanks to Ben, Chad, Andrew and Terry for representin' the Bush Rangers. Thanks to the CORCA guys, Rob MacDonald and the...
