Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.
We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.
A big congratulations to Michael Johns for winning a Nicklin community award for service to mountain biking on the Sunshine coast. Michael has (and continues to) contributed greatly to our club development in a variety of fields, though you may know him best for his role as secretary. Thanks for your work MJ! There wouldn't be a club without your efforts.

Hey everyone, Sunday's ride sounded great. Below is copy of Toby's report from Facebook.
Ok hello mtbers.
Bushies ride this morning was at Glasshouse mountains and what a glorious morning. We started off with 12 riders and rode down Steve's way to the famous drop bog and I think Neal got swallowed up as we lost him. Not blaming the tale end Charlie at all.
We then went along Caves Rd and up around tibbro lookout. Mike decided to stick it up all the e-bikers by going in reverse up the stairs. We lost another rider but this time due to mechanical. E-bike. Then headed around over the sandstone stepping Stones up to another lookout.
Mike took lead and found some hills up to the big Glasshouse lookout. That was when Di phoned an Uber e-bike delivery. Oh and Kerry found walk mode on her ebike.
We then went down to wave rock for a play where Chris was like a kid in a candy...
Skills training sessions are back due to positive feedback received from past attendees. This time we have negotiated a 3 Pack which consists of 3 x 90 minute sessions for just $30! But be quick, only 10 spots for members are available (more will come at a later date).
Aimed at providing our newer members/riders a solid foundation of both riding and mechanical skills to get the most out of their MTB riding. Also ideal for more experienced riders who would like to work on their basics and remove bad habits.
Session 1 - Sunday 2/6/19 - Cornering SkillsSession 2 - Sunday 9/6/19 - Braking SkillsSession 3 - Saturday 22/6/19 - Bike maintenance workshop
Cornering And Braking Skills sessions will be at Parklands (radar hill rd) conducted by Geoff from Hit Bikes Coaching and Bike Maintenance Workshop will be conducted by Marty at EnPlusOne in Maroochydore.

Hey everyone.
QPWS just emailed us to say that Ferny Forest is too wet and it's getting damaged. They've put up barriers until it gets a chance to dry out.
Spread the word out.

What a beautiful day on the Sunshine Coast for a Bushies social ride. We had 26 riders ready to go at 7am and 1 at 7.07 am. You know who you are.
We split into 2 groups of 13 funnily enough. The big guns led by Gramme likes a nap headed off looking to climb a mountain but in the end they only climbed a hill.
The second group supposed to be led by The Secretary, but she used her attorney and said no. Not arguing. We head around the dam with a few stops to regroup and a stop for first aid on Sonya's bike poor thing.
As we came into Landsborough we met the big guns, either tired or with low batteries, along the Stevo way to Ferny with a few riders expecting coffee. Yet again The Sec said not until you do a lap. So off everyone went ebikes first as they get cranky, then the rest of the guns then...
Joey looks up sadly and says "I just wish I could be cooler so I could impress a potential sexual partner of my preferred gender and live happily ever after".His friend stops shooing away a large group of crazed, lust-filled potential sexual partners with a stick, and looks at Joey with concern. "Maybe you should buy an awesome Bush Rangers jersey?" the friend says.Joey's face brightens up and he says "Yeah?! Do you think that will help? Is that what your secret is?". The beautiful, intelligent yet modest friend guffaws and says "I highly doubt it! They are just cool looking jerseys and it helps out the club. But if you really want to know my secret...
Hey everyone.
We just wanted to let you know that the changeover is going well and looks like all positions are going to be filled. The agenda and location is still to be confirmed but we'll let you know more details ASAP.
People interested volunteering for official duties please contact Emma on secretary@bushrangers.org before the 24th March.

So this is my last ride summary as the club secretary and I have to say, I may actually miss having this avenue to publicly tell my dumb jokes, bag my brother and drop the occasional passive aggressive bomb <sigh>… But that doesn’t matter now because this weekend I will hand over the official book of mountain bike lingo – 101 Words for Dirt – and then someone else can have the pleasure of publicly humiliating our club members with these summaries.
We arrived in Pomona early in the morning and the little town was just waking up. The weather was still and cool despite the earlier cyclone warnings of torrential floods and 160kph ducks and lawn furniture flying about.
We had some new, some nearly new and some not-so-new riders come along with us. Big hello to Jani and Orlando who came riding with us for the first time. I hope everyone enjoyed the ride.
Highlights of the ride were:
No cyclone
Sticks and lots of fallen trees.
I got to ride Kerry’s new e-bike.
Ben deciding to not use his GPS and then he took the wrong turn 300m into the ride (LOL!)
Roger decided to go down that rough descent near Fergusons road on his head (but he was OK).
A dead rabbit on Jampot Creek Road that really really stunk and Ben stopped us near it on the way back as we regrouped.
Free coffee and a citrus tart
That will do I guess. Check out the pictures and I hope to see you at the AGM this Saturday.
So Paul busted his collar bone in Wooroi on the weekend and now is out of action during the next couple of months. This means three things:
Dramatic reenactment
His regular Wednesday Parklands rides are off the calendar for the time being.
I need to make sure that I am not using the same health insurer as Susie and Paul are as they are probably about to bump up our premiums.
Was this just a clever (although extreme) method of getting into hospital to see Susie without paying the exorbitant car-parking fees?
But anyway get well soon Paul and let us know if you need any help with anything.
