About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Get well soon Paul

So Paul busted his collar bone in Wooroi on the weekend and now is out of action during the next couple of months. This means three things: Dramatic reenactment His regular Wednesday Parklands rides are off the calendar for the time being. I need to make sure that I am not using the same health insurer as Susie and Paul are as they are probably about to bump up our premiums. Was this just a clever (although extreme) method of getting into hospital to see Susie without paying the exorbitant car-parking fees? But anyway get well soon Paul and let us know if you need any help with anything. Michael JohnsClub Secretary ...

Update on Susie’s fall on Sunday

Susie our Women's Advocacy officer had a bad fall on Sunday's ride at Ewan Maddock Dam and had to be taken to hospital with an ambulance. She got a ride on a fancy stretcher Her leg and knee are banged up pretty bad and they are waiting for the swelling to subside before they can operate. We are thinking about you Susie and we really hope you heal well and are back on your feet pronto. When you can be sure to let us know how we can help. Michael JohnsClub Secretary P.S. Susie had to give her age for the 000 operator and I was shocked to hear that she actually isn't the 26 years old I thought she was!! Totally stunned!! P.P.S. Her bike is OK. It was a little shook up and scared but otherwise OK. ...

Parklands Signage Update

It's been a loooong time coming but the signage for Parklands is currently being printed and will soon be delivered and installed. The two big maps at both the Radar Hill Road and Atkinson road side of the park are being updated to include the new trails. There will be maps installed at the junction above Double Dab and the intersection where Rock'n'roll and Rock-a-dial meet the fire road. There will also be maps at the top of Phoenix and at the skills park. Additionally all those old map signs that only showed the fire roads are being replaced with new maps that also show the single-tracks. We are also getting some extra icons printed up so Rookie Road, Lush, Taser and Blue Tongue can be properly signed. Also we will get some "No Entry", "Give way" and extra directional arrows for problem intersections. So expect some trail care days to be called to get these posts and icons finally installed. Thanks to Ranger...

Hello everyone, [caption id="attachment_7052" align="alignright" width="300"] Awwwww yeah!![/caption] Sonja has come up with a lovely idea of having our end of year party eating 'endless' pizza at a new brewery at near Tanawha. The Glasshouse Brewery lads are finishing off their build and will be ready to host us at 4.30pm Saturday the 8th of December. The address is 330 Mons Road, Tanawha (i.e. the Kunara organic markets - so you can buy some expensive rolled oats while you're there). RSVP here - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/2018-bushrangers-xmas-party-tickets-52738543403 Regards, Michael Johns Club Secretary  PS: If you don't like beer I'm sure there will be other things to drink...

2018 Outdoors Queensland Awards – We Won!

We received the 2018 Queensland Government Award for Outdoor Places and Spaces award for our efforts on the Parklands MTB Trails Project. We were up against three other extremely good projects so our winning of this award was definitely a surprise. The panel had a difficult time sorting all the nominations down to four finalist and then a painstaking effort to pick a winner. This award isn't only for the club committee though. It's also for: all the volunteers who came along to the trail care days and helped, the Trailworx crew, all the people at QPWS SEQ Region -  especially Ranger Eugene Craddock and Pricipal Ranger Stephen Price All the local businesses, clubs and schools who gave us letters of support Sunshine Coast Regional Council for proving a grant and for Trails Activation Officer Kurt Martin's help Queensland Government Department Housing and Public Works (Sport and Recreation) for providing a grant and for Kathy Rodgers help, and to all our members...
