About Our Club

Our club was formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1995 when mountain biking (MTB) in Australia was in its infancy. Since then the club and the sport have gained popularity through advocacy and participation. The Bushrangers MTB Club is a volunteer based organisation run by enthusiasts, for the benefit of promoting and supporting mountain biking across the region.

We do regular rides all over Sunshine Coast and SEQ from Cooloola to Brisbane, in national parks, state forestries and council parks. Check out this website for more information on events, news, and for places to ride.

Parklands MTB Trails Project Update 23/05/2017

Trailworx have finished their work on stage one (access trail) and will be continuing on with stage two (beginners loop) in the coming weeks. Two trail care days in and we’re almost finished the access trail. The volunteer works have been made difficult with the wet weather and the particularly boggy clay sections. As we want these new trails to last we’re aiming for a high quality finish and that will take a bit longer so your patience and support is appreciated.

Stage One (Access Trail) Remaining Items:

  • Drainage
  • Digging/surfacing of two berms (1 x southern face/carpark side, 1 x northern face/container side)
  • Additional sandstone armouring of two creek crossings
  • Any other items identified by QPWS

All trail capping will be done at a later date, on an as-needed basis – this includes using rock armoring and road base.

Also note that QPWS have organised maintenance work on Double Dab and Rock-a-dial. Those trails should be okay to ride by this weekend but please abide by QPWS signage and trail closures.

Next trail care day is at 1:00PM Saturday, June 3rd will be focusing on the start of the beginners loop and any remaining work left on the access trail.
